VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - June 30, 2006) - True North Gems (TSX VENTURE:TGX) is pleased to announce the acquisition of an additional claim for its Bandito nickel property along with a large package of historical data. As previously announced on June 23, 2006, True North has commenced a ground exploration program for its wholly owned Bandito (formerly known as Corundum Dome) nickel property in the Watson Lake Mining District, Yukon Territory, Canada.
The acquisition of the claim is important to the Bandito program as the claim is embedded within the Bandito claim block. Equally important, the acquisition includes data from the previous owner, representing regional work on the Bandito property itself, as well as for the district surrounding Bandito, carried out during the 1970s and 1980s. The data package includes geological mapping, soil and stream sediment sampling (including multi-element analysis), contoured radiometrics, and diamond drilling. The drilling data is from the ground now covered by the Bandito claims.
With the acquisition of the additional claim, the Bandito property now consists of 81 claims, comprising approximately 1,690 hectares.
True North continues to seek joint venture partners for the Bandito property.
The Bandito nickel property is under the supervision of Greg Davison, P.Geo., Vice President Exploration, who is a "Qualified Person" as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
