VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - June 14, 2006) - True North Gems (TSX VENTURE:TGX) is pleased to announce that Company sponsored research carried out at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom has determined that three distinct styles of ruby mineralization occur at the Company's 110 km2 ruby property located near the village of Fiskenaesset on the west coast of Greenland.

The three distinct styles of ruby mineralization have been identified from among the 18 ruby showings so far discovered from the Company's Greenland property. They are: (1) Metamorphic; (2) Metasomatic and; (3) Partial Melting or Hydrothermal, each representative of different geological processes leading to the formation of ruby in the Fiskenaesset district.

True North's Chief of Operations, Mr. William Rohtert said: "The recognition of three separate styles of ruby mineralization in the Fiskenaesset district attests to the robust and widespread geologic strength of the region for gemstone production derived from a multiplicity of sources. We are highly encouraged by the results of the research at Cambridge."

The graduate level research at Cambridge was completed by Meghan Ritchie of Sechelt, B.C., for which she has been awarded the prestigious Master of Science degree in Geology. Her thesis, entitled: "Development of Multiple Parageneses of Corundum Mineralization in the Fiskenaesset Anorthosite Complex, Southwestern Greenland", summarizes six months of research conducted under the direction of Dr. T.J.B. Holland (Ph.D.) at the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Cambridge.

Additional detail with respect to research and its results can be found attached to this press release on the Company's website at www.truenorthgems.com or at www.sedar.com.
