VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 16, 2006) - True North Gems (TSX VENTURE:TGX) is pleased to confirm recent donations of two emerald necklaces to local British Columbian charities. The emeralds derived from bulk sampling deposits taken out of True North Gems wholly owned Tsa da Glisza emerald property in the Yukon Territory. Each necklace contained over 3 carat total weight of melee size stones, and were designed in-house by True North Gems.
The first emerald necklace donated was auctioned at the B.C. Children's Foundation Annual Fundraiser, The Crystal Ball, held on December 1, 2005 (see press release of November 29, 2005). The final winning bid for the piece was $11,111.11 and all funds go directly to the B.C. Children's Foundation which is associated with the B.C. Children's Hospital, who provides specialized health care services to children in both British Columbia and Yukon.
A second emerald necklace was also donated for charitable auction at the Cambridge House Gala, held in conjunction with the Cordilleran Roundup in Vancouver on January 21st 2006. The final wining bid for this piece was $4000.00, again, all proceeds from this auction were donated, and the beneficiary was the B.C. Alpine Ski Association.
True North Gems is extremely pleased with the recognition it has received with the successful bid prices for these two signature piece necklaces, created specifically by True North Gems to show case its gemstones from the Yukon Territory.
