Dayton Homeowner to Benefit from Standard Register Painters, Landscapers
Company volunteers help rehab home as part of National Rebuilding Day, April 28, 2007
DAYTON, Ohio, April 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Dayton community has
long recognized Standard Register (NYSE: SR) as a leading provider of document
and print management services as well as an outstanding corporate citizen. One
Dayton family, however, will soon recognize Standard Register and its
employees as hard-working house painters and landscapers.
Nearly 40 Standard Register employees plan to ascend on an existing home
located in Dayton's Twin Towers neighborhood on Saturday, April 28 as part of
this year's National Rebuilding Day, sponsored by Rebuilding Together. This
program, which is coordinated locally by Rebuilding Together Dayton, preserves
and revitalizes houses and communities, assuring that homeowners in need -
particularly those who are elderly, displaced and disabled as well as families
with children - live in warmth, safety and independence.
'Standard Register has a long history of giving back to the Dayton
community through charitable contributions, volunteer involvement and other
giving programs,' said Brad Cates, vice president, sales and marketing,
Standard Register. 'Rebuilding Together Dayton is an extremely important
program to our company, as we are able to share our volunteer resources to
help ensure individuals and families can enjoy the comfort and security that a
home provides.'
As part of Standard Register's volunteer efforts and support from
Rebuilding Together Dayton, this home will receive exterior painting as well
as general lawn and landscaping work. Standard Register requested a home in
this neighborhood because it coincides with the company's volunteer efforts at
Patterson-Kennedy Elementary school. For the past five years, Standard
Register has coordinated a host of volunteer programs and fundraising events
to benefit the school, including an annual holiday gift program where this
past year, each of the school's 850 students received a gift.
Up to 30 other homes throughout the Dayton area will receive general
improvements as part of this year's National Rebuilding Day, with rehab
projects ranging from plumbing repairs to wheelchair ramp installation to
complete roof replacement. For more information on Rebuilding Together, visit
