Todays Office Professionals Survey: Administrative and Clerical Worker Confidence Trends Upward for Second Consecutive Quarter

Results from the Administrative and Clerical Employment Report:

-- Fewer administrative and clerical workers believe the economy is getting
weaker. Specifically, 40 percent of workers believe the economy is
getting weaker versus 44 percent in the second quarter of 2009.
-- One-third (33 percent) of administrative and clerical workers reported
that they are confident in their ability to find a new job, reflecting a
six percentage point increase from the previous quarter.

-- Twenty-eight percent of administrative and clerical workers surveyed
indicate that they are likely to job search in the next 12 months, a
decrease of seven percentage points from the second quarter of 2009.

"It is not surprising that our latest Administrative and Clerical Employee Confidence Index is relatively unchanged from the previous quarter," said Brendan Courtney, president of Todays Office Professionals. "Despite the glimmers of hope pointing toward economic stabilization, our Report has historically proven to be highly reflective of the general economic outlook, which continues to remain in a holding pattern. It is interesting to note that while administrative and clerical confidence edged upward this quarter, fewer workers are looking to make a job transition in the next 12 months. Despite this slight decrease in worker mobility, we still urge companies to keep a clearly-defined focus on their retention strategies that will help better position them for the economic turnaround."
