Ltd announces the hire of Redvers Norrie and Francois Morin as senior professionals in its London office, which opened in December as part of its international expansion to serve the middle market. The firm anticipates increased global M&A activity throughout 2010 with cross-border deal activity continuing to rise. In December alone, Harris Williams & Co. closed 12 transactions, and nearly half of its 2009 strategic acquisition assignments were cross-border with buyers around the world spanning North America, Europe and Asia.
Norrie joins the firm having previously worked at Deutsche Bank in both London and Sydney advising clients on a wide variety of assignments, including public and private divestments and acquisitions, public takeover defence, fairness opinions, acquisition debt and equity financing and strategic advisory assignments. Norrie has extensive cross-border experience across Europe, the U.S. and Asia-Pacific, and across a wide range of industries such as technology, telecom and media, energy and power, and industrials amongst others.
Morin joins the firm from The Blackstone Group having represented clients on numerous advisory and capital-raising assignments focused primarily in the technology industry including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, initial public offerings, board advisory, and restructuring assignments. Morin’s previous experience also includes work at UBS Investment Bank and Deutsche Bank and his industry experience spans the software, digital media and information technology services sectors.
