A Loan Collector from Kentucky Wins the Role of Flo's Helper in a
National Progressive Ad
Jun. 8, 2010 (Business Wire) -- Jacob Doherty from Highland Heights, Kentucky gets his big break. He will appear with Flo, Progressive’s always-happy-to-help insurance clerk, in a national print ad this summer and a television commercial later this year.
He scores the role after facing down more than 2,500 helper hopefuls vying for Superstore stardom and testing his skills with Flo in Los Angeles.
“I was over the moon about the chance to meet Flo, so you can imagine how exciting it is to now be able to appear with her in the Superstore on a national stage,” said Jacob.
“The competition has been fierce,” said Flo. “Jacob has the makings of a Superstore star. He’s super friendly and helpful; both great qualities when it comes to helping people 24/7 with their insurance needs.”
“It’s been exciting to see people connecting with Flo and our brand,” said Brian Silva, Progressive’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Jacob stood out as a great fit for our Superstore because he exudes the qualities we’re looking for—friendly, helpful, and loves insurance.”
