4GB and 8GB PC3L-10600 RDIMMs Validated on Intel Xeon 5600 Series

Jun. 30, 2010 (Business Wire) -- Dataram Corporation (NASDAQ: DRAM), a worldwide leader in the manufacture of high-quality computer memory, storage products, software and services, today announced the immediate availability of low-voltage, energy efficient memory upgrades for IBM’s System X servers. These 1.35v DDR3L RDIMMs are fully compatible and have been validated with the new Intel Xeon 5600 Series processors.
Dataram customers will immediately appreciate the benefits of using the new energy efficient memory – most notably reduced power consumption and cooling requirements – without having to sacrifice performance, budget or reliability. The new memory upgrades are available in DDR3L-1066 and DDR3L-1333 speeds, can be purchased at up to 40% off IBM prices, and are manufactured and tested in Dataram’s state-of-the-art USA manufacturing facility which operates under stringent ISO 9001 standards.

Referred to in the industry as “DDR3L” and “PC3L”, the memory operates at 1.35 volts, compared to the 1.5 volts of standard DDR3 memory. As a result, customers can expect up to a 20% power savings with the use of this new memory. Dataram’s new low-voltage DDR3L DIMMS are compatible with older DDR3-based systems and will operate at the higher voltage when mixed with standard 1.5 volt memory within the same system.
IBM System X servers supporting Dataram’s energy efficient memory products include the IBM System X iDataPlex dx360 M3 (6385, 6386, 6394), x3400 M3 (7378, 7379), x3500 M3 (7380), x3550 M3 (7944), x3620 M3 (7376), and x3650 M3 (7945).
