Comverge Expands Executive Management Team to Capitalize on Growing Intelligent Energy Management Market

Steve Moffitt Joins as Executive Vice President of Engineering and Operations

Jul. 1, 2010 (GlobeNewswire) --

NORCROSS, Ga., July 1, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comverge, Inc. (Nasdaq:COMV), the leading provider of Intelligent Energy Management solutions for Residential and Commercial + Industrial customers, today expanded its executive management team with the addition of Steve Moffitt as executive vice president (EVP) of engineering and operations. Moffitt joins Comverge following a strong start to 2010 that has seen increased adoption by utility customers of its Apollo Demand Response Management System (DRMS®) and comprehensive suite of innovative technology, services and information management solutions.

"We are at the forefront of a major shift in how electricity is managed and consumed," said R. Blake Young, president and CEO, Comverge. "Comverge's leading intelligent energy management solutions are designed to support that shift and Steve's unique experience developing and implementing utility operations technologies will be instrumental in ensuring we continue to lead the market. In his role, Steve will facilitate the delivery of software and hardware that not only helps residential and C+I customers reduce energy consumption today, but also provides a proven and comprehensive platform for future smart grid initiatives."

Moffitt joins Comverge with more than 20 years experience in the energy, utility and commodity trading business. In his new role, Moffitt will lead the engineering team responsible for developing future releases of Comverge's Apollo DRMS and other innovative intelligent energy management products. He will also oversee the company's day-to-day operations, including network control, software and hardware engineering, measurement and verification and quality. He most recently served as vice president and regional CIO for BG Group, an international London-based energy company. Prior to BG Group, Mr. Moffitt was a managing director with UBS Investment Bank where he was responsible for global commodity trading technology that supported the energy, agriculture and metals trading business. Previously, he held several executive positions at Dynegy, Inc., including senior vice president and CIO. In this position Steve led Dynegy's technology architecture through one of the most aggressive expansion periods the energy industry has seen. Steve began his career in utility transmission, distribution and generation operations at Texas Utilities, Inc.

"This is a very exciting time to be joining Comverge," said Steve Moffitt, EVP of engineering and operations, Comverge. "Its vision is backed by unique experience and a proven track record of delivering complex energy management programs to all classes of customers. As a result, it is the one company amongst all the start-ups and non-traditional players entering the market that is positioned to deliver intelligent energy management solutions that will drive real change and achieve measurable benefits."

The appointment of Moffitt follows two recent additions that have significantly bolstered the Comverge executive management team. In February 2010, R. Blake Young, a 25-year industry veteran, was appointed president and CEO. In June 2010, Chris Camino was hired to oversee all utility and C+I sales nationwide, business development, and corporate and product marketing. With the addition of Young, Camino and Moffitt over the first half of 2010, Comverge also announced today it has restructured its management team to further drive domestic and international growth, execute on its existing and future intelligent energy management programs and empower the next generation of applications enabled by the smart grid. As part of this effort, Comverge will heighten its focus on product management and delivery and has appointed executives Bud Vos senior vice president (SVP) of product strategy and alliances and Ed Myszka EVP of program delivery. Michael Picchi will continue to serve as EVP & Chief Financial Officer in addition to leading the company's international expansion plans and corporate strategy.
