Stocks end higher in Argentina, lower in Mexico, Brazil

MEXICO CITY, Jul. 3, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- Latin America's three major stock markets ended mixed on Friday.

Mexico City's IPC stock index dropped 0.03 percent to 24,045.39 points. A total of 41 million shares were traded with a value of about 44 million U.S. dollars.

At the Buenos Aires stock market, the Merval index closed at 1,579.12 points, up 1.09 percent. The trade volume was 5.341 million dollars.

In Sao Paulo, Latin America's biggest bourse, the leading Bovespa index closed at 50,934 points, down 0.18 percent. The trade volume was 850 million dollars.
