Adrian Goodisman Responds to Dissidents' Circular
Calgary, Alberta CANADA, June 08, 2012 /FSC/ - Alberta Oilsands Inc. (AOS - TSX Venture), wishes to announce that it has been informed by Mr. Adrian Goodisman, AOS' longest serving director, that Mr. Goodisman did not provide his consent to being named as a board nominee of the dissident group of shareholders in their circular dated June 7, 2012 and does not support the dissident group's call to elect a new board of directors of AOS. Moreover, Mr. Goodisman stated:
"I fully support our current management team and board and our plan to move forward at Clearwater and to develop AOS' other assets to their full potential. I have serious concerns regarding the dissident group's motives and the ability of their slate of board nominees to maximize shareholder value. I fully intend to submit my BLUE proxy and vote in favour of management's seven board nominees and would urge shareholders of AOS to do the same."
AOS shareholders are due to elect directors at the annual and special meeting on June 28, 2012. Shareholders are urged to vote their BLUE proxy in favour of management's seven nominees.
Proxies must be received before 10:00 a.m. (Calgary time) on Tuesday, June 26, 2012.
